Muay Thai fighter Bandasak Chaiyasan has been suspended from the sport after it was discovered that he has steel shins.
The Muay Thai World Council were made aware of x-ray images that seemed to prove Chaiyasan has had illegal titanium plates inserted into his legs. The evidence emerged just days after he claimed a victory by a head kick knockout.
After regaining conciousness, the opponent was reported to have said:
It's no wonder he's never felt anything like it, he had a piece of metal smacked round his head.
Someone from Chaiyasan's camp apparently claimed that the implant was put in place after the fighter snapped his leg during sparring and that it was essential to his recovery. However, keeping it in place during a fight is unsurprisingly a violation of the federation's rules. Some are doubting that he even had such an injury as normally, something like that takes a year to fully heal but he has fought just two months prior to his fight with Chalor.
